Memorial Day is the saddest of all holidays; we honor those that have given their lives on the battlefields of war to insure that Americans maintain their freedoms. I’m a veteran myself of the Air Force. This Memorial Day I will not be my usual absurd, insane nasty self. I’m feeling very somber at the moment.
it seems like there is a war on the LGBTQ community within our military. Trans soldiers are being removed; they are losing their benefits and etc.. The military has lost its history and forgotten what the LGBTQ community has given to the military.
So, this Memorial Day we are going to look back through history and remind people that our military was formed into what it is today by the 1st openly gay serving member, Baron Friedrich von Steuben who was hired by George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
During the Revotion War it was illegal to engage in homosexual activities, but no one cared about von Steuben’s sexual preferences were because his attention to detail and military strategy was far more important to winning the Revolutionary War than who he loved.
His primary job was to create a military that could win, which meant without this openly gay member, the military we have today would not exist. LGBTQ members have been serving in the military since its creation. No one can change the history of this nation’s military and without the queer, there would not be this most magnificent military that we have today!
It took strength, courage and extremely huge balls to be openly gay in the military during the Revoutionary War. While many of us, such as myself, classify as sissy boys, there is no doubt that the LGBTQ community is tough as nails and our balls are bigger than most of our cocks. Don’t let the current political military atmosphere kick your ass, use to tighten your garter straps and get ready for another fight for your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. You owe all that you are and the freedoms you have to those that gave their lives for you. Don’t let them down, but most of all don’t let yourself down.
Honoring not only the veterans of war during this Memorial Day, but a special honoring to all of the LGBTQ members who have fought and given their lives in the service of their country through out history.
